Inauguration of the
SXCOBA

On the 14th Dec 1947 the Inaugural Meeting of the OBA was held in the college hall – Mr.Thomas Bastian was elected Secretary-Patron Rev.Fr. D.P.Farina

1949 Dec.18th The Third Annual General Meeting of the St Xavier’s college OBA was held at the College hall at 4 pm. The annual reunion dinner took place at St. Andrews Hotel. Mr.H.Hameed was elected Secretary On the 27th Oct 1953 C.F.A Inter-Club Competition held at Kandy. Organized by The Ceylon Football Association.

Dec 1954 :The Annual Dinner held at Pedro Hotel Nuwara Eliya at 8.00 pm. Mr.Francis Xavier elected Secretary- The manager of the school presided and Mr.Fred Alles the District Judge, the Chief Guest. The Mayor who is also the Principal of Holy Trinity College Mr.V.A.Vijayaratnasingham made a speech 1959 C.F.A Cup Competition. Ceylon Brewery S.C vs. SCXOBA.

In 1959 Dec. His Lordship the Bishop of Kandy ,Rt.Rev.Dr.Leo Nanayakkara visited the College. On 10th Nov 1960 The 13th OBA Anniversary Sports meet was held. The Football League was sponsored by SXC, OBA 3rd Dec 1960 the 13th Anniversary sports meet was sponsored by the St Xavier’s OBA.

Jun 6th 1961 the Kings Dinner at Priory Guest House organized by the OBA. 1961 Jan 23rd Emergency meeting of the SXC OBA was held at the Y.W.C.A. hall with regard to the proposed school take over bill.

1961 Jul 29th Annual General Meeting of St.Xavier’s College OBA,held in Nuwara Eliya . Parents, old boys ,parishioners and well wishers protested against the proposed vesting of the College.

10th Nov 1962 The 14th Anniversary Celebrations of St. Xavier’s College OBA, 1962 Nov. 11th Re Union Day 1963 Oct. 25th OBA Committee meeting .

On the  10th Aug 1963 Welcome Dinner organized to Bro. Anslem on his visit from Pakistan. 1965 Nov. 1st OBA 18th Annual Re Union (Sec.T.E.Sama, Treasurer – F.Xavier) 1970 Mr.Percy Jayaratne was elected OBA Secretary 1972 December 3rd :25th Annual General Meeting. Secretary- Mr.Percy Jayaratne. Silver Jubilee celebrations of the SXCOBA.

1979 College Sports Meet was conducted by the OBA.

In 1992 Sports meet was conducted by the OBA .

After St Xavier’s College was vested in the crown in 1961,Rev.Bro.Anselm Stanislaus left for Pakistan to establish St Peter’s High School in Lyllpur in west Pakistan.. He kept continuous contact with the SXCOBA and paid a visit to Nuwara Eliya in 1963 and was welcomed by the members of the Old Boys’ Association:
